I’m actually just getting back into the stride of writing. I was done for weeks, but sat on it, then went back and reworked some of the chapters, adding over 5k when my intention was actually to cut 1.5k. Time and motivation are always factors sometimes, the book you think is finished demands a second look. And some books just come very fast-like Max, which didn’t take very long at all, while some books like The Blacksmith’s Apprentice took me almost three years to write. That depends, of course, on how long the book is. How long, on average, does it take you to write a book? However, two things are true about my books: they’re all character-driven and feature very adult content. I guess Max (and this new sequel) might count as a psychological thriller. ![]() ![]() I’ve written fantasy, historical, contemporary, paranormal, horror, and sci-fi. I think my writing style, at its roots, is pretty consistent. How would you describe your writing style/genre? ![]() ![]() ![]() Will not make again, as I'm sitting here picking out the veggies before throwing out. As far as the sauce's texture goes, with the amount of dried spices needed, it comes out slightly grainy even if you're a whiz at making silky flour/oil roux.On the plus side: the veggies taste delicious and balance out the sauce well enough, even though I think the noodles are getting in the way. ![]() and many more pots (I used three? Four?).The sauce is mediocre, but I suspect it's more of an issue with my curry powder than anything. First, I think it was written more for a skillet than a wok - doesn't tell you at what temperature to turn on the burner for the skillet/wok, but let me tell you that if you have a wok and are using it at the proper temperature, the cooking times are going to be shorter.Second, you only THINK it's going to take 35 minutes and it takes much longer. It was alright if you're desperate for food, but I think there's some issues with the recipe as-written. ![]() ![]() The fact that the book is somewhat inspired from his own life, makes it more believable, and consequently popular among his fans. As anticipated, 2 States was a bestseller as well. ![]() ![]() ![]() Here in India, the record breaking success of his books and the movies based on them conveys all. The New York Times called him the biggest-selling English-language novelist in India’s history. Though there are numerous issues in his books and his style of writing, but we can’t dispute the fact that this man has changed the face of Indian reading. Quite predictably, both of them fall in love and what follows is their journey of convincing their parents.Ĭhetan Bhagat is one of my favourite authors. Ananya gets into a tiff with the mess worker, and Krish helps both of them to settle it, in return sacrificing his sweet dish, to the Ms. The story opens when Punjabi-boy Krish Arora, meets Tamil-Brahmin-girl Ananya Swaminathan in the IIMA mess, where they are both studying. Chetan Bhagat’s fourth novel, 2 States, revolves around this theme – way before Chennai Express was in the works! When the two halves of the couple are from two opposite regions, things are set to get tricky. In country like India, a love affair converted into marriage is no less than a battle won. ![]() A love story between North and South, Chetan Bhagat's 2 States is an easy, entertaining read. ![]() ![]() ![]() Unfortunately for the majority of us girls, this kind of scrutiny is all the more apparent today, decades after Carrie’s writing. And sadly all too familiar she stands in front of the mirror before a party, furiously analysing every angle of her being, utterly crippled by anxiety. ![]() ![]() She seeks the comfort of a normal relationship. Suzanne’s insecurities are wholly relatable despite her privilege and wealth, she still desires a successful, rewarding career. We meet Suzanne in rehab and follow her journey back to the real world (if you can class Hollyweird as the real world) and her struggle to find some solid purpose in her life. It tells the tale of Suzanne Vale, an actress with a serious dependency on substances, (something Carrie was able to write about from a personal place) in an incredibly funny, no-holds-barred manner. Her debut novel, first published in 1987, illustrates all of this in bundles. She was witty, cool af, clever and complex. The late, great Carrie Fisher was an icon, there’s no doubt about that. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sh Prahlad Singh Patel said that we now need to deliberate and work seriously in the field of heritage. ![]() The Minister explained that India has a unique heritage of temples, dance, music, shastras which can’t be found anywhere in the world and protecting these invaluable inheritances for future generations is a collective responsibility and requires a renewed focus on community participation and awareness in addition to the regulatory and administrative framework.
